Below is a gallery of pictures of the actual trailer I am going to look at on the dealership lot in the morning. Below each picture I have commented on what I like (or don't like) about the particular item/feature based on MY intended usage of the trailer!
I REALLY like the extra storage the walk-in pantry offers. Yes, it's in the slide out, and there's a downside to that, but it's OK (and I address the downside in another photo). And I'd rather have the dinette w/the huge window than a sofa! :-). .
The big sell here was NO window on the bottom bunk...why you may ask...this area is going to have some minor conversion to accommodate an "office," and has the PERFECT window layout! Bathroom doorway is to left, and black glass panel fridge at far left.
The bathroom is rather "roomy" by comparison. I don't really need the back door, as I won't have dirty, sandy, kids traipsing in/out to the bathroom every five minutes, but it's OK, I get the larger bath - I can just leave door locked and perhaps use the extra floor space! .
I said earlier there was a drawback to the large walk-in pantry...well here it is. There is no window on the right wall of the slide...it's the wall for the pantry...but that's OK, still have huge window on slide back wall, as well as large window on left wall.
This, along with the walk-in pantry on the right comprise the slide-out. Notice the TWO pullout storage areas (one under each bench), as well as the large panoramic window on the back wall, and the large sidewall window on the left!
While the 5500 BTU fireplace units that Forest River installs might look nice (and they do), there's another upside to them...usually your rates in campgrounds include your electric, but not your gas (LP)...you can use the electric space heater in the fireplaces & save on your LP (cooking/heating) gas. TV Mounts Above & Bedroom Door on right.
I like windows that open on BOTH sides. Also, notice the (narrow, but...) mirrored wardrobe on each side of the bed for hanging clothes. Additionally, there are USB and electrical outles on both sides of the bed, as well as TV wiring prepe=ped on the ceiling.
The bed is on struts which allow you to raise it up and it stays up...you can then access your exterior pass-thru storage area from inside (inclement weather, etc.), and you'll also notice four slide out totes for additional storage...and, at the far right, that's a laundry chute (don't really need it, but hey...) :-).
Back at the front doorway, to my immediate left is the Control Center. This is where you operate things like the slide-out, water heater, water pump, etc. You'll also notice the upper control unit. This controls the solar power system. This particular until has solar already installed (tho only 100w I believe, I'd like to have 400w).
This shot just looks out across the living/dining, kitchen, <soon to be> "office" area from the front door. It's rather dark back there, but the bathroom doorway is at the rear on the left.
Notice the front pass-thru (open all the way thru to other side, also accessible from under bed inside)...long power awning, extends all the way back to just past the rear door (the one into the bathroom)...Also that black area just to left of front door is the exterior kitchen (gas griddle and dorm-sized refrigerator).
Rear Passenger side view reveals that "perfectly placed" rear window in the "Office" area. With it's height, and it opens, a perfect breeze when sitting at my computer! Also, the small black object to right of window is the factory prep for a backup camera, which I will have install, as well as two side marker camera's.
This shows the view from the back corner on the driver's side with the slide extended. Again, you can see that perfectly placed "Office" window, as well as the large window on the back wall of the slide out (the dinette area).
This just shows the drivers side from the front. Again, you can see the slide out without a window on the front wall due to the walk-in pantry. The window furthest toward the front is a bedroom window. One thing I DO like about the windows is the dark black tinting. Also, the dark black area at the lower left front is not a window, rather it's the other side of the pass-thru storage area.
This just shows the front view. It does have the power tongue-jack, as well as two 20# LP tanks and one 12v battery with disconnect switch. It only comes with one, 100w solar panel (I think), and I think it can expand to 600w, but will need two additional batteries...will have to find out :-)
This is nice as it's lightweight (don't get me started on weight...that's a subject for another day, another discussion)...Anyway, it helps keep the underbelly like your water tanks, etc., from freezing, as well as you water lines. The individual panels tho are easily removable for service needs.
